Writing is a performance, just like figure skating. I can read it and have a sense of confidence, of control, of precision. It doesn’t necessarily mean that by the end of the work I’m gonna be wow’ed. But I can tell from the beginning of the work whether the writer has mastered their craft to a certain degree.

  1. That’s how I see writing too! It’s just like going up on stage, and you wouldn’t go up on stage without a message, or with shabby clothes (unless it’s for the part), would you? Thanks for this post!
